JANE EST SENTENCED
I. W. W. Girl Sent to Island—Disturbed Religious Meeting.
New York, June. 10.—Jane Est, an Industrial Worker of the World leader, who took an active part in the descent on the churches by that organization last winter and was arrested in April after a disturbance in Dr. Parkhurst's church was arrested yesterday when she interrupted a religious
meeting of the peace forum. She demanded that she be allowed to take the stand and address the audience.
Later Miss Est was sentenced by a police magistrate to three months on Blackwell's island. Frank Urban, a speaker at the meeting, testified that she. tried to strike him when he refused to allow her to address the assemblage. Miss Est in giving her "pedigree" and said she had no home and was a student of philosophy and sociology.
